Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture
(Hainan Prefecture for short), lying in the east of Qinghai Province, Its name
literally means "south of Qinghai Lake." is also called Hainan,
because it is situated on the south of famous Qinghai Lake, with many scenic
spots noted in China and foreign countries which make people linger on.
Covering an area of 45895 square kilometers and the population of 400,000, the
prefecture government is in Qiabuqia Town, which is 144 kilometers away from the capital Xining. Hainan Prefecture consists of five counties such as Gonghe County, Tongde County, Guide County, Xinghai County and Guinan County.
Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is an autonomous prefecture of northeastern Qinghai Province in Western
China. The prefecture has an area of 45,895 square kilometres
(17,720 sq mi) and its seat is located in Gonghe County.
Its name literally means "south of Qinghai Lake."
