Overview

Jiangmen is a modern city with beautiful landscapes, seaside beaches, and healthy cares of hot spring, forest zoology and customs of overseas Chinese homeland. It is the No.1 hometown of overseas Chinese with a long history and rich culture and profound customs of overseas Chinese homeland.

Jiangmen has a total population of 3.82 million among which the urban population is 1.32 million. More than 3.68 million overseas Chinese are original from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, its population is one tenth of the national population of overseas Chinese.

Jiangmen is a central city on the west bank of the Pearl River Delta. It covers a total area of 9,541 square kilometers among which the urban area covers 1.818 square kilometers. Jiangmen City belongs to fluvial plain of delta. Most of its topography is low, flat and is gradually slanting from west to east. The altitude of Tianlu Mountain is 1.250 meters which is the highest peak in Jiangmen city. Jiangmen is China’s top tourism city with rich tourism resources, beautiful landscapes and a large amount of cultural relics. Chuandao Seaside Tourist Holiday Resort in Taishan, the most well-known scenic spot in Guangdong Province, is honored as Oriental Hawaii. Besides there are ten natural hot springs such as Jinshan Hot Spring, Didu Hot Spring, Jinjiang Hot Spring, Taishan Hot Spring and Gudou Hot Spring etc. The ten hot springs have fine water containing many kinds of minerals and microelements. Enping is honored as the hometown of Chinese hot springs by United Chinese Mining Workers. Birds’ Heaven in Xinhui is a natural environment where inhabit thousands of egrets and over ten kinds of gray cranes. Besides it is infused with rich culture of South Range. Watchtower in Kaiping combines the architectural art of China with that of western countries, which is like a handscroll of painting full of the rich culture of overseas homeland. Liyuan Garden and Jinshan Hot Spring Holiday Resort are both 4A scenic spots in China. There are also famous relics here such as Ancient Battlefield of Southern Song in Yamen, the Memorial to Chen Baisha, the Former Residence of Liang Qichao, the Former Residence of Feng Ru, and Kui Xiang Museum and so on. Furthermore, there are some tourism agriculture bases and eco-tourism scenic spots such as Modern Demonstrated Agricultural Base in Xinhui, Gudou Hot Spring Tourist Holiday Resort, Xiangxing Fallow Grange in Heshan City, Hedong Proficient Grange in Enping, Feifengshan Fruit Field. China (Jiangmen) Tourism Festival of Hometown of Overseas Chinese is a ceremonious event once a year, which attracts lots of tourists from all over the world.
