Jieyang City is located in the south of Guangdong Province. It borders Xingmei to the south, the South China Sea to the south, Shantou and Chaozhou to the east and Shanwo to the west. It has jurisdiction over 3 counties (Jiedong County,

Huilai County and Jiexi County) and 1 district (Rongcheng District). It’s also mandated to govern 1 county-level city-Puning City. It covers an area of 4,050,000 square kilometers. It has a population of more than 5,200,000 people. It’s the largest prefecture-level city with the longest history and the largest population in Guangdong Province.

Jieyang is rich in tourist resources. It has a long history. It’s bestowed with beautiful mountains and river, and numerous of relics and revolutionary memorial places. It has distinctive pastoral scene, temples and historical relics with quite different styles, colorful folk customs, and characteristic local culture. Flowers bloom all the year round. Good fruits fling their fragrance all around. Famous people come to the fore in great numbers. Anecdotes spread abroad. Jieyang enjoys the fame as the “Town of Chinese Painting”, “Town of Playlet”, “Town of Fruits”, and “Famous Homeland of Overseas Chinese”. Puning is the famous “Town of Green Olive”, “Town of Green Plum” and “Town of Guangdong’s Orange” in China.

The tourism in Jieyang has developed very fast in recent years. The overall tourist pattern of “One Line and Nine Districts” has already come into being. “One Line” is the tourist line on the Rongjiang River. “Nine Districts” are “the Huangqi Mountain Scenic Spot”, “the Rongcheng Xian qiao Guizhu Garden Scenic Spot”, “ the Jiedong Golden Lion Scenic Spot”, “ the Jiexi Dayang Tourist Holiday Resort”, “ the Puning Yunhe Tourist Holiday Resort ( including Chaoshan Cultural Park)”, “ the Huilai South Sea Seaside Resort”, “the Huilai Yuedong Jinghaiwan Botanical Garden Club”, “ the Puqiao Yonghua Guolin Tourist Village” and “ the Jiedong Putian Eco-agricultural Tourist Area”. With original more than 70 scenic spots of certain scale, “One Line and Nine Districts” form a series of tourist products in Jieyang. The tourist line gradually develops into a large tourist web, which takes the downtown area as the axis, radiates in all parts of the city and connects Shantou, Chaozhou, Chaozhou, Meizhou and Shanwei together. The tourism in Jieyang has initially taken shape. Jieyang has developed into a good place for pleasure, sightseeing, summer and holiday.
